Joey Klein Returns to Australia to share his Skills and Knowledge

Joey Klein will return to Australia for a series of workshops around the country in April 2010. The intention of these workshops is to develop partnerships with state agencies and key land managers by providing insight and training in the most effective and sustainable methods for managing MTB in Australia's Parks and Reserves. IMBA Australia wants to work with Rangers and Park Staff, be it in National Parks, Forests or Local Councils, to create high quality trails and encourage the formation of "Trail Care Crews" to help maintain trails well into the future.

Workshops will be held in the following locations
1) Cairns
2) Brisbane
3) Melbourne
4) Margaret River
5) Sydney

Many topics will be covered including trail network design, shared use, risk management and MTB Patrols. Successful examples of back country trail networks, bike parks and urban MTB facilities from Australia and overseas will be presented in order to demonstrate the process and practices for solving trail issues, no matter what the obstacles might be.

Having Joey back in Australia is a real blessing and it is important to use his skills strategically. That is why his workshops will be for government, councils, tourism bodies and leading trail advocates in each state. Demand for training in sustainable trail design and techniques for managing MTB is high, so it is intended that more IMBA Australia Trail Workshops will be carried out in regional areas later in 2010.

I look forward to working with Joey again and providing a suitable environment at each workshop so that he can work his magic.
